Who is Tess Holliday?
She is a Body Positive Activist, Plus Size Model, Makeup Artist, Blogger, & Mother.
After years of being relentlessly bullied for her size, which resulted into her dropping out of school, Tess was determined to pursue the things she loved to do that would build up her self-confidence. She turned to makeup artisty because she was inspired to show the world that makeup could truly “transform” someone inside and out. This passion progressed into her landing jobs as head makeup artist, hair stylist, creative director for numerous fashion shows, as well as a career in modeling.
In the meantime, she blogged about her life, her daily looks, and an increasing amount of followers fell in love with her personality. She launched the #effyourbeautystandards movement aimed to encourage everyone to celebrate their bodies as is. Because this message resonated with so many people, there are currently over 1 million photo shares on social media with this hashtag.
Last year, Tess made history by being the first size 22 model to land a contract with major modeling agency MILK Management and made headlines as she graced the cover of People Magazine’s annual body issue.
Today, we are ecstatic to announce our collaboration with Tess on her first ever plus size fashion collection, mblm by Tess Holliday, available exclusively at Penningtons. Designed with her community of supporters in mind, this collection is all about cutting-edge fashion and fearless attitude. Coming soon – Spring 2016.
“I don’t have any styling rules — for me, it’s all about wearing what makes you feel good”, Tess told the Huffington Post when asked what to expect from the line.
Through her empowering community, Tess is the kind of woman who gives us the courage to be proud of who we are no matter our size, and now we can finally flaunt her fashion just as fabulously!

Yay! Excited for this. It’s nice for gals that aren’t stick thin to finally have choices what to wear and aren’t stuck just wearing animal print muumuus because that’s all most stores offer in our size. When we feel good in our clothes we feel better about our bodies. Accentuate those curves don’t hide them 🙂
I love her style and can’t wait to see what she creates.
i love Tess!!!she is beautiful and a terrific model for all of us PlusSize gals!!!
It would be awesome if this line would NOT have huge flowers, #’s, and no polyester, it makes a woman sweat even more, not pretty.
What does the MBLM stand for?
I’m so excited to see what she does. Remembering we like to be sexy and but still not bound like a sausage. I like to see more of a rockabilly look. Fitted on top flow on the bottom. Edge with a dab of cute. Longer tops. Fun sweaters. Leggings with attitude…. getting tired of black all the time
