On September 16th, Penningtons, Pretty BIG Movement and an outstanding number of Toronto-based body positive activists took Toronto by storm, resonating messages of size-acceptance, body diversity and self-love. Together, we turned corner of Yonge St & Eglinton Ave into a curvy-loving dance floor!
Our flash mob is our most recent event in support of our #iwontcompromise campaign – a movement that celebrates women doing what they love, wearing what makes them feel good and being who they are, without compromise.
Though we have seen some groundbreaking strides towards size acceptance in society, plus-size women are still often discriminated against. In an ongoing effort to broaden the “norm” of beauty, we are dedicated to making waves in the name of body-diversity and showing society that plus-size women CAN (and will) do anything.
“For anybody who’s watching, I hope you were inspired and understand that you are good enough, no matter what size you are!” – Akira Armstrong, moments after the flash mob.
