International Women’s Day is coming up, and to be honest, we could all use the support and love right now. How am I spending the day of empowerment and unity? I will be taking part in a Women’s Day March in downtown Los Angeles. I can’t imagine spending the day not surrounded by women who want to make our world a safer, better place for all of us. Now more than ever it’s important to lift each other up, and make your dreams a reality. I know that sounds a bit selfish, but I have a good reason for saying that. You see, when I decided that I wanted to be a model, it wasn’t for fame or money, it was because I didn’t see anyone that looked like me in fashion magazines or mainstream media. I didn’t set out to be a “role model” nor did I understand the impact I would have on women and ultimately myself. I’ve learned so much the past few years, and one of the things I’ve learned is to never compromise. Never give up on a dream you have, never change who you are to fit in to society’s unrealistic standard of beauty, and never stop trying to be the best version of yourself that you can. The world needs women like you, we need women who fight for their dreams and who stand up against adversity.
