Hi, Dianne here! I am writing my first fashion blog. When I write, I usually talk about yoga. Today, I am talking about another passion (fashion!) and I am excited to talk about what makes me feel beautiful. First off, I believe what makes everyone beautiful is their soul, their essence and their personality. Your soul is the light that illuminates your eyes and animates your body; a beautiful soul can radiate the world. In regards to fashion, I love to select outfits that reflect on the outside what I’m feeling on the inside. I know that when I feel good, I look more confident and powerful.
I teach and practice a lot of yoga, so I spend most of my time in yoga clothes. My favourite pieces of clothing for asana practice are colourful leggings and fitted tees. I like body-hugging clothing when I practice because they stay in place and give me the freedom to move. Asana practice is about celebrating my body and it is great to have cute sportswear to do it in (I have come a long way from big baggy sweats). There is no need to hide your body and now is the time to celebrate your curves and swerves. Your abundant body is beautiful so celebrate it!
When I’m not wearing yoga clothes, I would define my style as laid-back and comfortable. I want to look good, but I feel I’m at an age where comfort is key. I wear what I like and choose my clothes based on my mood. My outfit of choice is usually a bootcut jean in a dark wash and a bright, beautiful tunic. If I want to add more flare to an outfit, I love adding a colourful scarf, large hoop earrings, and bracelets.
When I go out on the town, I want to feel glamorous. I don’t get dressed up very often but when I do, I’ll opt for a classic LBD. It always looks great alone, with colorful jewelry, or a sequined wrap. To top it all off, a platform heel or a rocking stiletto is a must!
Remember your body is your canvas and it is meant to represent who you are, so don’t be afraid to have some fun with fashion. Let your personality shine!
